Editorial Policy
Editorial Policy
At PetMessFix, we take the trust you place in us incredibly seriously. When you are dealing with a sick pet, a behavioral issue, or a ruined carpet, you need information that is accurate, actionable, and completely unbiased.
This Editorial Policy outlines our commitment to producing high-quality content that pet parents can rely on.
1. Fact-Checking and Accuracy
We believe in science-backed, evidence-based pet care. Every article undergoes a rigorous fact-checking process before publication. Our writers and editors verify all claims, statistics, and medical statements against reputable sources. We prioritize primary sources, such as peer-reviewed veterinary journals, veterinary schools, and recognized organizations like the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the ASPCA.
2. Veterinary Review Process
While our editorial team boasts extensive hands-on experience in the pet industry, we know that veterinary medicine is highly specialized. To ensure the utmost accuracy and safety, all content relating to pet health, medical conditions, nutrition, and serious behavioral issues is reviewed by members of our Veterinary Advisory Board. These licensed professionals verify that our advice is medically sound, up-to-date, and clearly distinguishes between home care and situations requiring a professional veterinarian.
3. Unbiased Product Reviews
Our product reviews are strictly independent and objective. We do not accept payment from brands in exchange for positive reviews or favorable rankings. If a product fails our testing (whether it's a clumping litter that doesn't clump or an enzyme cleaner that leaves a foul smell), we will tell you the truth.
When we recommend a product, it is because we have tested it and genuinely believe it will solve your problem. For more details, please read our How We Test & Review Products methodology.
4. Originality and Integrity
Every article on PetMessFix is 100% original, conceptualized and written by our dedicated team. We do not copy our competitors, and we prioritize providing unique value and highly practical advice over merely appeasing search engine algorithms. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate dismissal of any contributor.
5. Disclosure Regarding AI Assistance
We embrace technology to help us work more efficiently, but human expertise remains at the core of PetMessFix. We may occasionally use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to assist with outlining, brainstorming, or basic grammar checks. However, AI is never used to generate the final published content, conduct product reviews, or provide medical advice. Every article is written, thoroughly edited, and fact-checked by real human beings with real experience in pet care.
6. Updates and Content Schedule
Veterinary medicine, pet care best practices, and the pet product market evolve rapidly. What was considered true five years ago may not be the standard today. We operate on a continuous content update schedule, auditing and refreshing our older articles regularly to ensure they reflect the most current information and product availability.
7. Corrections Policy
Despite our rigorous editorial processes, errors can occasionally happen. When they do, we are committed to fixing them promptly and transparently. If a factual error is discovered in an article, our editorial team will correct it immediately. If the error is significant and changes the core advice of the article, we will add a clear editor's note at the top or bottom of the page explaining what was changed and when.
If you spot an error on our site, please let us know by contacting us at hello@petmessfix.com.
